Mukden Imperial Palace

Mukden, the former name of Shenyang, was the cradle of Manchu rule before the Qing Empire's capital shifted to Peking. The Mukden Palace, built by Nurhaci, served as the dynasty’s first royal court. Nearby is the Zhao Mausoleum, final resting place of Hong Taiji — the emperor who formally founded the Qing Dynasty.
